If you’ve ever visited San Diego California, you would have heard of Hamburger Mary’s.  A SUPER popular local bar in the past, that broke off from the Franchise due to some disagreements and some legal stuff is what I heard.  Anyway, there are still some “Hamburger Mary’s” restaurant/bars that are still around that could only HOPE that they could be half as popular as the one that used to be in San Diego.  (By the way, the one in San Diego is now called “Urban Mo’s”, and it remains SUPER popular and a must visit for anyone vacationing in the San Diego area)…As a matter of fact, I just had lunch there today!

Anyhow, I had to pass this on to anyone interested in listening.  Some friends of ours went to the “Hamburger Mary’s Long Beach” thinking that it would be like the old place in San Diego, and here’s what he wrote to me: 

“David,  we went to Hamburger Mary’s Long Beach today and here is the review that Michael gave them”.  

“The place smells like vomit, and/or shit. The $17 kobe burger tastes like a big mac from McDonalds.  The french fries taste & LOOK like refried/ reheated left overs. Gross. Yuck!  I’ll go to Micky D’s next time & save me some money.  I should have listened to all the previous reviewers, instead I decided to come here & try it out.  Ugh.  I’ll never come here again, neither should you!  Go to another gay bar/ restaurant that has 4-5 stars instead!!!!”

Now, nothing against McDonald’s because I myself still have Big Mac Attacks!  So don’t be confused by his statement above.   The long and short is, “Hamburger Mary’s Long Beach” is beyond a dive, and the food is not only bad, it’s beyond BAD, beyond Fast Food, beyond GAG…well, you get the idea. 

We hope this review is helpful if you are trying to make a decision on where NOT to eat the next time you’re looking for a Gay Place in Long Beach.  Don’t go to ”Hamburger Mary’s Long Beach”, that’s for sure!
